Special guest host this month is Deni Bonet as SWB founder Valerie Ghent is off to the South of France for a concert on the Cote d’Azur (ooh wouldn’t that be nice, Songwriter’s Beat in the South of France? We’re all up for THAT!) Travel safe Val and welcome Deni!

We’re also thrilled to see a reunion of NPR Mountain Stage’s TWISTER SISTERS: Deni Bonet and Julie Adams will play a few songs together!

On February 21st, 2013, Songwriter’s Beat presents “Rob Morsberger & Friends”. The uber-talented Rob Morsberger will share the stage with singer-songwriters Jon Albrink, Valerie Ghent, Tim Robinson and Ina May Wool.

We will also be celebrating the Feb. 15th release of Rob’s newest double CD, “The Early Years: 1986-1995″.

Acclaimed artist Rob Morsberger has met his recent diagnosis of terminal cancer with a relentless drive towards releasing “as much material as time allows”. Over the years Rob has performed many times at Songwriter’s Beat, and we are truly happy to be able to come together to share music, songs and friendship.

In December, 2000, four acclaimed NYC singer-songwriters, Valerie Ghent, Deborah Berg, JJ Appleton & Sherryl Marshall, launched Songwriter’s Beat with a sold-out concert at Cornelia Street Cafe.

Twelve years later we have a LOT to celebrate: over 340 songwriters, 150+ concerts, 8 songwriting festivals, ongoing songwriting workshops, dozens of benefit concerts for a wide variety of causes, a song contest and the creation of hundreds of new songs!

About Songwriter’s Beat:
Now in its 12th year, Songwriter’s Beat is NYC’s premiere performing songwriter series. Hosted and founded by Valerie Ghent, four outstanding songwriters perform new material each month in a supportive and intimate atmosphere at Christopher Street Coffee House.

Every third Thursday, four songwriters of varying musical styles perform original songs and are encouraged to try out their newest material and arrangements. The series culminates in a week-long festival each July, featuring performers from throughout the years.Founded in 2000, The Songwriter’s Beat has presented over 325 songwriters from the Tri-State area as well as visiting songwriters from other parts of the United States, Canada, France, the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Cuba, Denmark, Sweden and Japan.

That’s RIGHT! We’re Beantown-bound! It’s our first Songwriter’s Beat in Boston and we are THRILLED! Please join us at Arts at the Armory on September 8th- you’ll be glad you did!
